Frame of Reference Fine Art successfully blends the best of the New and the Old West, featuring contemporary works by both emerging artists and acclaimed masters, along with a carefully-curated collection of rare works by some of the West’s best-loved artists.
Our exhibit is anchored this year by an exceptional collection of Edward Sheriff Curtis photogravures depicting various tribal peoples of the northwest. We will also feature original works by Joe DeYong, Jack Hines, L.A. Huffman, Ace Powell, C.M. Russell, Irvin “Shorty” Shope, and several other historic artists.
On the contemporary side, we are presenting works in a variety of media by an extensive array of artists, including Mark Edward Adams, Richie Carter, Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey, Julie T. Chapman, Carole Cooke, Frank Hagel, Ronald Himler, Kat Houseman, Tabby Ivy, Dennis Johnson, Stacey Peterson, Jeanette Rehahn, Roger Rink, Robin Sorg, Laurie Stevens, Linda Tippetts, Echo Ukrainetz, Ron Ukrainetz, Michele Usibelli, and Ken Yarus.
After 19 years on Electric Avenue in Bigfork, Frame of Reference Fine Art relocated to downtown Whitefish in 2017. In addition to our diverse selection of two- and three-dimensional artwork, we are renowned for our custom picture framing, providing services to individuals, artists and institutions.
