With minimal formal art training, my eyes are wide open to everything around me, and I have no preconceived ideas on how to view different subject matter, or art forms. Although much of my work would be classified as representational, I also create abstract pieces. Many of my sculptures emphasize the human form, with its innumerable compositional options. I also believe that the choice and application of patina is an extremely important part of the bronze process, so I do most of that work in my home studio. Previously, as a dentist in private practice, my schedule was extremely demanding and often stressful, but in 1994 I retired from dentistry in order to devote full time to my art career. My schedule is now of my own creation and one that I love! New vistas have been opened with art, and I am enjoying my life immensely.
